Maptsoft Mobile Application Privacy Policy
The document below outlines the permissions that Maptsoft’s Mobile applications require and what these are used for.
INTERNET
Allows the application to use the phone's internet connection
Used to synchronize Asset Take On, Inspection and Maintenance Activities (Hereafter referred to as Activities) to the Maptsoft server for reporting purposes on the Maptsoft.com site.
ACCESS NETWORK STATE
Allows the application to check the state of the phone's connectivity to the internet.
Used to assess whether or not the phone has internet connectivity for real-time syncing purposes
NFC
Allows the application to access the phone's NFC device.
Used to read and write maptsoft Asset information to and from an RFID tag.
Accounts and Syncing
AUTHENTICATE ACCOUNTS, GET ACCOUNTS, MANAGE ACCOUNTS, USE CREDENTIALS, WRITE SYNC SETTINGS, READ SYNC STATS, WAKE-LOCK
As a group, these permissions allow the application to create and maintain user accounts for the application and synchronize the application along with Maptsoft Activity Data to and from the server.
This data is used to generate activity-based forms and capture and synchronize activities.
GPS
Allows ACCESS FINE LOCATION, ACCESS COARSE LOCATION
These permissions allow the application to access the GPS location of the phone. This is used to GPS stamp the location of a Maptsoft Activity.
CAMERA
This allows the application access to the phone's camera.
This permission is used to capture photographic evidence of an Activity to be sent to the maptsoft server for reporting purposes.
STORAGE
WRITE EXTERNAL STORAGE, READ EXTERNAL STORAGE
These permissions allow the application to access the phone's external storage e.g. an SD card or simulated SD card storage.
This is used to store Activity-related photos, retrieve them for synchronization and remove them post-synchronization.
