Introduction
The latest Update of the Maptsoft App provides new functionality, performance and usability improvements which are explained below.
WHAT’S NEW IN THIS UPDATE
- Take on Field Column Value Linking
- Edit Required Notification for outdated take on fields on Tag Scan
- Labels added to Maintenance Request Toggles
- Multiple Signatures on Single Inspection
- Multi-Line Comment Fields for Paragraph Style Layout
- Inspection Image Labels
- Inspection Search for longer Inspections
- Audio Recording Icon Labels for better Usability
TAKE ON FIELD COLUMN VALUE LINKING
We have applied the same column value linking methodology which is currently in use across many inspection regimes to the TAKE ON fields as well. This means that various fields in any given take on can be enabled or disabled based on initial selection by user.
For example, if we perform a take on for a specific machine type, and we state that the machine is of TYPE A – any follow on fields that don’t relate to TYPE A will be hidden and you will only have the related TYPE A fields remaining.
This will be applied to assets on request. Should you wish to apply the take on linking to your specific type – the result will require all existing tags in the field to be edited to match the new structure.
EDIT REQUIRED NOTIFICATION
If at some point an asset take on structure has changed or has been updated, the App will notify the user that the tag data is outdated and that an Edit of the details is required. This notification is highlighted in the images below:

Left Image: App will prompt a tag scan as per normal. Right Image: The App identifies the tag requires an edit and generates a Requires Edit notice which displays in the asset info box.
NB – If a user sees this notification – they MUST perform the edit as the App will not permit the user to proceed to the Working Screen until the tag data has been edited and saved. Simply tap the EDIT button – review the take on details and make the required changes, then SAVE the edit and re-scan the tag. Normal inspection activity can then resume from the working screen.
MAINTENANCE TOGGLE LABELS
In order to reduce confusion – the App now has identifying labels just above each of the toggles which are used to activate a maintenance request, as pictured below:

These labels serve as a question for each toggle – basically asking does this inspection field require a maintenance action? If yes, then tap the toggle to activate the maintenance request.
MULTIPLE SIGNATURE CAPTURE AND QUEUE FOR SIGN OFF
The existing signature functionality has been extended to enable the capture of more than one signature per individual inspection. The additional signatures can be captured during the inspection stage, or queued for bulk sign-off at a later stage.
As demonstrated in the images below:

The first image on the left shows an inspection which requires sign off from three separate individuals. The second image in the middle shows the signature being captured by the user performing the inspection only. The inspection can then be saved which queue’s the remaining two signatures for sign off at a later stage. NB Please note the inspection will only be Synced once all signatures have been captured and appear as a completed inspection in Maptsoft.com. The final image on the right then shows these two pending signatures which can be signed off by the required person on this screen.
MULTILINE COMMENT FIELD
We have created a new data type which allows for paragraph style comment boxes to be inserted in an inspection or maintenance regime. These will be phased in through individual assets and can be identified by the larger spacing below the stated comment field:

INSPECTION IMAGE LABELS
Where required, users can now add labels to their inspection images – this enables the user to add a description to the inspection image and describe the condition of the equipment as shown in the image below:

INSPECTION FIELD SEARCH BAR
We have added inspection field search functionality for long inspections whereby the user can search for a specific field during an inspection by tapping on the search bar and typing in the name of the field the user is looking for. See images below:

AUDIO RECORDING ICON LABELS
Although the audio recording functionality is not new, we have modified it to make it more user friendly. We have added labels to the Record, Stop, Play and Delete buttons, as shown in the images below:
